Нational stakeholder forum under the Danube STREAM project

Today, Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River held the first stakeholder forum for the Danube STREAM project, funded under the Danube Transnational Programme 2014-2020. During the meeting were presented the project and forthcoming activities.

Danube STREAM gathers many experts from different institutions and companies, with the Bulgarian side (EAEMDR) participating with six other partners from Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Romania. The main objective of this project is to achieve a harmonized, innovative and efficient management of the Danube river. Its implementation will contribute to the harmonization of activities between the Danube countries, the provision of continuous cooperation and development of the information services for the waterway, in order to meet the needs of the users. Navigation safety will be improved by providing accurate real-time navigation information.

Svetlomir StoyanovAt the strategic level, project activities are related to stakeholder cooperation and policy coordination. Therefore, a discussion was launched in the second part of the meeting, aimed directly at the users of the waterway.

The forum was attended by representatives of Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, cruise companies, hydroengineering organizations, firms, ship owners and others.

The project is co-funded by European Union through the Danube Transnation
