The Executive Agency "Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River" has taken another important step towards increasing safety on the Danube River. Following a public procurement procedure, the agency has concluded a contract for the supply of 1020 coastal signs, which will be installed within the framework of the DISMAR project, financed under the Interreg VI-A Romania - Bulgaria Programme.
The scope of the supply includes 528 pcs. coastal non-illuminated signs, 472 pcs. kilometer signs and 20 pcs. signs for coastal beacon signs, which will support the safety of navigation.
The implementation period is 60 calendar days, and the value of the contract amounts to nearly 299,000 leva.
The DISMAR (Danube Integrated System for Maritime Safety and River Information Services) project aims to improve navigational safety and information infrastructure on the Danube River in the cross-border region. It is being implemented jointly with the Romanian river administration. Within the framework of the project, floating navigation signs (buoys) will be delivered, as well as two non-self-propelled vessels, which will be used to service the coastal signs, one for each of the partners. In addition, a common information system for monitoring and management of navigation signs in the common Bulgarian-Romanian section of the Danube River will be developed and implemented.
