The main objective of the WANDA project was to harmonize international rules and practices in the field of waste management in the Danube countries in Southeast Europe. In the near future, restrictions imposed by state borders will be dropped by creating a sustainable waste management system from navigation along the Danube River from a conceptual, operational and financial point of view.
The project included activities such as the development of an international framework concept for waste management, harmonized national concepts, the implementation of pilot activities and the preparation of a financing model for financing the services offered by the waste management system.
