The Executive Agency for Exploration and Maintenance of the Danube River is a legal entity seated in the city of Rousse - a second level spending unit to the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, and operates under the Maritime Areas, Inland Waterway and Ports in the Republic of Bulgaria act, Administrative Law, Water Law, Rules of Procedure of EAEMDR and other legal acts.
EAEMDR, in accordance with Art 54 of the Administrative Law, is an administration to the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications for providing administrative assistance to natural and legal persons, as well as carrying out activities and services related to ensuring the activity of state authority bodies for save navigation and in accordance with domestic and international law, pertaining to the maintenance of the conditions and ensuring safety of navigation on the Danube river.
